Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player claimed his initial championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging year, managing just one match at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in particular - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-time trainer Cervara.

Now training with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

It is the player's initial title after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court after that period of 2023.

Victory also signifies Medvedev has won 21 titles at 21 various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my both daughters together, so to get a title is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.

The player's counter-punching play style and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had caused some to wonder if his capacity to play at the top level was finished.

Yet the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and compete positively, reinforced by an better service.

The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, securing 4 of the last five points to take the lead.

Both players swapped breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial tour victory, took control to push for a decider.

The opponent rescued 4 early-game break points in a close third set before the Russian secured a break to that score to secure the win.

Appropriately, Medvedev clinched the title with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
